Robert (Bob) Gordon
A celebration of Robert (Bob) Gordon’s life is being held on Sunday 26 June 2016 at the Kenora Curling Club, 721 First Street from 2 – 4pm. After a lengthy illness, Bob passed away on 16 June 2016. Bob will be missed by many who knew his quick witted sense of humor. Bob was born in Lac Megantic, QC and the family moved to Sudbury, ON. As a very young man, Bob was employed by the CP Railway. Bob then became a firefighter with Sudbury Fire Department, then was employed by the RCMP. Bob wished to return to Ontario and joined the Ontario Provincial Police in 1964. Bob retired a Sgt. Kenora DHQ Communications in 1994. Bob is fondly remembered as “Radio Bob”. Bob is survived by his daughter, Janet and son-in-law Geoff Hartley, his wife, Margaret, brothers and sisters –in-law, Rory and Glenda McMiIllan, Bob and Sharon McMillan. Bob is predeceased by his son, Greg, his parents, and sisters and brothers-in-law, Janet and David King, Winifred and William Prince. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, or the Lake of the Woods Railroad Museum, 805 Lakeview Drive, Kenora, ON.
