LOIS PATRICIA MANN (Pope) - March 17, 1931 - August 25, 2016
Mom took her final step into heaven's gardens at the time she usually got up in the morning on Thursday August 26th. That was just like Mom, had to get things started early. Things have been pretty hard for her in these final months not being able to do the things that she always loved to do. She so loved to cook and be out there shopping mostly for other people. Always wanting to help and give to other people right till the end.
She made me promise to keep this short. No fuss over all she did or any of that she said. People who knew her knew the kind of person she was anyway. She loved us all so much and she touched a lot of hearts in her life's journey and we will miss her more than words can say. She had the biggest heart and so much love to give. I'm sure she had many there to greet her. Her Mom and Dad, Aunty Pearl and Aunty Rita to name a few.
Predeceased by her Sons Donald and Bobby and a Daughter Carla Lynn, Mother and Father, Albert and Clella Wanita (Peggy) Pope. Brothers Les and Gary. Also by her Mother and Father in law Arthur and Elizabeth Mann and many Brothers and Sisters in law.
She leaves to mourn her husband Albert (Bert) of 66 years. Her Son Ken, Daughter Lori and only Granddaughter Jenny. Her brother Cam (Josie). Her favourite cousin Kalfern. Many nieces and nephews and her favourite little great nephew Elijah. Many friends and neighbours too many to count.
We would like to thank everybody at Birchwood especially those of you who became like a family to us over the past 6 years since Dad went in there. And Mom loved it over there and all of you too...You all made her feel happy and safe. Always telling us how good you all were to her. You special ones you know who you are.
A big big thanks to Linda and Debbie for coming to see her in her final days. Especially. you Lin. Mom loved you girls, you too Jude!!! And was asking where "her Gregg was" just the other day. Thanks to all of the Dr's and nurses who took care of Mom both in the hospital and at Birchwood. We appreciate all you did for her.
And thanks to all of those that called or visited her either in the hospital or Birchwood. All of those visits and calls were very special to her and to us. June Dearborn Mom would never forgive me if I didn't mention you. Thank you for everything you did for her too.
At Mom's request there will be no formal service. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to The Cat Shelter, B.I.S.N.O, The Cancer Society or a charity of your choice.
When we were sad you held our hands
with comfort only a Mother understands
You're free now Mom your pain is gone
But without you here it all seems wrong.
Our hearts are broken with you out of sight
And we'll miss that final last call of the night
You're finally getting the peace that you so deserved
A space right there in heaven for you was reserved.
Thank you for being here as long as you were
Your love was our greatest gift for sure
I know you're still with us and will be till the end
When it's our time you will hold our hands once again
Wish we could have had just one more day
So much more we wanted to say
We will love you and miss you forever and a day little Momma!!!! Forever in our hearts and always on our minds....Rest well until we see you again.
