Lawrence (Lorne) Queen
May 24, 1928 - August 31, 2018

It is with sadness we announce the passing of Lorne Queen of Kenora. He leaves behind, Vicky Queen, his spouse of 66 years, daughter Sharon (Bob), daughter Debbie (Lorne), son Kevin (Marta), son Rick (Donna), 11 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.

Lorne was a renaissance man with knowledge of carpentry, plumbing, electrical, masonry, machining and welding. He had a very creative mind and enjoyed inventing. Most of his work life was spent at the local paper mill where he worked in the lab. A few years before retiring in June 1989, he became a machinist. Lorne enjoyed volunteering and served on the school board and in various capacities at his parish. He loved the outdoors especially fishing and hunting.

Although Lorne had his own struggles, he raised his children to have a strong work ethic, to be honest and to have integrity, values that have served them well throughout their professional and personal lives.

Lorne was cremated and chose not to have a formal service. Special thanks to the doctors and staff of second east at the Lake of the Woods District Hospital who provided exceptional and compassionate care.
