Surviving is the love of his life Luvonne who was his partner for one month short of 64 years of marriage,

Children, Brian (Cathy), Ray (Kim), Todd (Corinne), Vickie (Jeff) Son in Law Wayne Sykora.

Grandchildren Andrea (Chris) Daniele (Peter) Samantha (Josh) Madison, Mackenzie, Dylan (Shelby) Jolee, and Alex. Great Grandchildren Kate, Eli, Nika, Lena, Owen.

Dad was a strong person with a mind of his own.  He was born in Emo Ontario and started working at a very young age cutting wood and eventually getting his crane operators license. His entire career revolved around the forest industry, and it began in Camp Robinson. Mom and dad were married in 1955 and their new home would become Jones Ontario, accessible only by rail at the time. He was involved in the construction of the road from Kenora to Jones and Jones to the Ear Falls Highway in many capacities. Once the road was complete their new home would be camp 251 (Colona Lake). They had 3 fine young sons while there and in 1966 moved out of the bush to Kenora to have Vickie in 1967. He continued in the forest industry at the Kenora Saw Mill, the Paper Mill and the last job was with his old friends at R and W Timber in Ear Falls. Once retired Mom and Dad travelled the globe and then purchased a summer home in Sioux Narrows, where for 27 years, enjoyed gardening, relaxing, hosting family and making new friends.

Dad was involved in coaching Little League Baseball, curled, hunted, fished and played a mean game of Crib. Was also a die hard Leaf’s and Blue Jays fan.  If he missed a hockey game on a Friday or Saturday night at the Kenora arena, it was rare. He had his own spot there and was known to all the other regular hockey fans. In this last season he really missed the rink.

A Memorial Services will be held on Saturday December 14, 2019 at 11am from St Alban’s Cathedral.

Thank you to all the LOW hospital staff and all his home care team.

RIP Dad
