Stephanie Valiquette (nee Klowak), passed away on October 26, 2017 with family by her side. Stephanie was born in Inwood, Manitoba on Feb 10, 1932.  She married Morgan (Red) Valiquette and raised their two young children, John and Marilyn, together throughout Northwestern Ontario.

After her children were grown, Stephanie wanted share her gift of helping others and went back to school resulting in nursing at Birchwood in Kenora, a job she held dearly.

Morgan and Stephanie spent much of their retirement years residing in the Ottawa Valley, surrounded by many siblings, nieces, nephews and friends that they considered family.  Stephanie spent many hours in her garden, filling her cold room with preserves that family gladly emptied during their visits.  When not in the garden, you could find them both watching the stars at the trailer park with all their family and friends.

After Morgans passing in 2009, Stephanie joined her children in Kenora, living with her daughter.  She loved her nightly ice cream treats with Marilyn, her daily conversations with John and getting to know all her amazing great grandchildren.  She shared her love of horses with daughter and was able to fulfill this love through her daughter’s daily barn stories.

Left to celebrate Stephanie’s life are her daughter Marilyn (Chuck) Behrsin and their children Trish (Darren) and Carrie (Cam) along with great grandchildren (Brynn, Jackson, Rylan and Kate) as well as her son John and his children Tammie (Jeff), Danielle (Erique) and Zachary and great grandchildren (Ashlynn, Nieko and Acadia).

Stephanie’s family would like to thank the wonderful staff in the pallative care unit at the Lake of the Woods District hospital.  There will be a Celebration of Life in the hearts of those who loved her.
