Joyce passed away peacefully on December 9, 2017 at Lake of the Woods District Hospital.
She was born to Hector and Edith Gaune on May 4, 1929.
She married Holger Lund on July 31, 1982. For many years Holger and Joyce enjoyed their afternoon coffee breaks at the Lake-Vu Co-op in Norman. Every evening after dinner they would drive around the streets of Norman making sure everyone was home safe and secure. Joyce was well known for her plumbing expertise after working many years at Canadian Tire and Plumbing Plus.
She was a longtime member of the Royal Canadian Legion and always enjoyed attending their dinners and teas. An avid bowler for many years Joyce enjoyed the camaraderie of her team until health conditions made it too difficult to bowl.
Joyce was predeceased by her husband Holger, daughter Muriel, brothers George and Beaver, sisters Lorraine and Muriel and granddaughter Jennifer.
She is survived by her sons Wilf (Linda) Barber and Murray Barber, son-in-law Ron (Linda) Sarginson and grandchildren Bradley (Erica), Gillian and Jonathan, great grandchildren Carson and Annalise, her brother Hector Gaune, sisters Betty (Paul) Albert and Peggy Sinclair and numerous nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her stepdaughters Diane (Garry) Lapworth, Sandra (Rob) Ronnebeck, Katrina (Andre) Picard, and stepson Clayton, grandchildren Susan (Anthony) Sharp, Greg (Dawn) Lapworth, Nick Melnyk and great grandchildren Lauren, Colton, Ashton and Ella.
A private graveside service will be held for the family in the spring.
Her family would like to thank the Dr’s that cared for Joyce the past six weeks and also the caring nurses of 3rd East.
