After an arduous struggle, Odile Wilcott passed away at Birchwood Terrace, Kenora, Ontario on February 2nd, 2018, at the age of 88.
Odile was predeceased by her parents Imelda and Philippe Lafreniere, and her husband of fifty years, Bart.
Mourning her loss are her children Diane (Dennis), Terry (Cathy), Marc, and Larry. Memere will be missed by the grandchildren she loved so dearly, and was so proud of: Alexis (Jon), Giordan, Austin, Sarah, Kyla (James), and Randi.
She is also survived by her brothers Alcide, Yves (Denise) and Emilien (Diane), her sisters-in-law Marie Therese Wilcott and Rolande Wilcott, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Raised on the family farm with six brothers, Mom was independent and industrious, sometimes opinionated, and fiercely loyal. Her family was always the focus of her life, she loved having all of her “chicks” (her kids and grandkids) at home for holidays and special occasions. She and Dad enjoyed their retirement years traveling, camping, fishing, and spoiling their grandchildren.
The last few years were difficult and you fought the good fight. Time to rest now, Mom / Memere. We will take it from here.
Mass of the Christian Burial will take place at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday February 10th, 2018 at Notre Dame Parish Church, 222 1st St. N., Kenora, ON.
