12 July 1941- 5 March 2020
Peacefully and surrounded by family, Betty-Lou Reynard passed away on March 5, 2020. She is survived by husband Allie, son Ryan, daughter-in-law Michelle, daughter Renai, son-in-law Chris. Her grandchildren were the light of her life: Nicola and Tim Symonds, Natalina and Isabella Reynard. Also surviving are brother Mario Contini and family, as well as numerous cousins and extended family. Betty-Lou was predeceased by her parents Bess and Lou Contini, beloved sister and brother Janis and John Contini. Betty-Lou touched so many lives as a proud, lifelong Keewatin/Kenora resident. From volunteering in numerous capacities with minor hockey, ringette, Kenora Bass Invitational to working at Reserve-A-Resort/Sunset Country Travel to promote our beautiful area, she was a tireless and efficient woman. She and Allie enjoyed many years RVing as “snowbirds” or visiting family and friends across the continent. Their motorhome could almost drive itself to Colorado and Calgary! Although she was dealt a horrible blow when diagnosed with ALS (Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis) a year ago, Betty-Lou remained upbeat with her sense of humour intact, and faced the daily challenges with grace. It didn’t stop her from the cooking and baking for friends and family she so adored. Nana’s always tasted better because it was made with her love! The care and compassion shown by friends, health workers and Pinecrest Home during these challenging times were much appreciated. A Celebration of Life will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers and if so desired, donations in Betty-Lou’s memory can be made to Kenora Special Olympics, It’s A Dog’s Life or ALS Canada Research Program.
“You can rest now, Mum.”
