Lola Lundy

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Lola Lundy (Robb) at the age of 98 on Friday December 24th, 2021 in Kenora, Ontario.

Lola was a devoted wife to Lawson Lundy for more than 50 years before his passing in 1994. She was a loving mother to Linda Quibell and Larry Lundy (Lorie). Cherished grandmother to Jason Quibell (Michelle), Stacey Tessier (Joel), Robert Quibell,

Cassie Lundy (Jeremy), Brent Lundy (Nicole) She was lovingly known as GG to her great grandchildren, Lawson, Ashton, Sophie, Kanon, Ozzy and Karsyn. Lola is also survived by her sister Joyce Wilcox of California USA.

She was born on July 4th 1923 on Cockburn Island in Ontario to Albert and Ethel Robb. After the passing of her mother at a young age, she moved and was raised by her grandparents on a farm in Thessalon, Ontario. She met Lawson as a teenager and was married on July 8th 1942. They later moved and became long term residents with their two children in Elliot Lake, Ontario. Lola was a member of the Eastern Star for many years and part of the community at the United Church in Elliot Lake. As the family matriarch, she loved everyone fiercely and unconditionally. She will be remembered as one of the kindest and gentlest souls you could ever meet.

In honour of our mother and grandmother, the family will come together for a graveside service at Woodlands Cemetery in Elliot Lake next spring. In lieu of flowers, a donation to St Joseph’s Hospital in Elliot Lake would be greatly appreciated.

Unfortunately, due to Covid restrictions there will be no reception.

Together again, they rest in peace.
