Rose Ida Hall
January 27, 1925 - January 10, 2017
It is with heavy hearts that our family announces the departure our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great grandmother and most of all a friend, Rose. Rose was well known to many as Granny. We will always remember this amazing hard working woman by her love of spending time with family (there are a few of us), gardening, fishing, camping, swimming, blueberry picking, baking, knitting and so much more. Granny would love nothing more than a weenie roast surrounded by family and friends. Her beautiful knitted afghans are spread throughout the family for many of us to wrap around ourselves, while they become a part of her hugs keeping us warm. Granny, among her many talents, would also knit mittens and donate them to the hospital for those in need. She was definitely an independent loving woman who was extremely successful in anything she would try. Rose was very proud of her family and they are her greatest achievement. We have so many sweet memories of her and she will be deeply missed.
Rose was pre-deceased by her loving husband Garnet, brother’s Ernest (Madeline) Murray, Gabe (Jean) Charlebois and sister Mary Florida (Len Alcock); (Hank) Berthelette. She was also pre-deceased by her son in-law Bob (Diane) Wagenaar, daughter in- law Linda (Bill) Hall and granddaughter Amanda Hall.
Rose is survived by sisters Stella (Jim) Hill, Rosanna (Glen) Burrell and brother Bill (Evelyn) Murray. She is also survived by 11 children: Bill, Ida (Ron) Eastwood, Diane Wagenaar, Robert (Darrelene) of Fort Frances, Glen (Kris), Gary (Barbara), Judith (Charlie) Hardy, Arnold (Mary), Murray (Jodi), Merlyn (David) Wilcox, and Gilbert. Granny will also be extremely missed by her 30 grandchildren, 39 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild.
The family would like to give a special thank-you to Dr.Ghazali and the nursing staff on 3rd floor at the Lake of the Woods District Hospital for their remarkable compassionate care of Rose.
