Margaret Alice Holliday (nee Cole)

September 3, 1938 - January 26, 2019

 

With her husband, Frank, at her side, Margaret passed away peacefully at the Lake of the Woods District Hospital in Kenora, Ontario after sudden and unexpected heart problems.

 

Margaret was born in St. Boniface and grew up in Transcona. She attended Central School, St. Mary's Academy, and the St. Boniface School of Nursing, graduating as a registered nurse in 1960.

She worked as a nurse at the St. Boniface Hospital and later at the Park Manor Personal Care Home.

 

Margaret was predeceased by her parents Thomas and Jean Cole (nee Williamson).

 

She will be lovingly remembered and cherished by her husband of 58 years Frank, her sons Randy (Susan), Ken (Karen), Gord, and Bruce (Lidia), grandchildren Beckie, Michael, Dana, Brittanni, Kayla and Claire and great grandchildren, Zach, Everett, and Alexandria.

 

When Frank retired in 1987, they moved to Redditt Ontario. Margaret had many friends in Redditt and enjoyed participating in many community events, the summer and winter festivals and fundraisers for the curling club, fire hall, and road board. She also met wonderful people through her involvement with the Kenora Red Hatters and Crown Jewels.

 

Cremation has taken place and a family service will take place at a later date.
