Edward Puls
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Edward Puls (AKA Ed, Eddy, Fast Eddy, Uncle Ed, Dad, Grumpy...), who passed June 24, 2022 in Kenora, Ontario.
Ed was pre-deceased by his mother, Lambertha Mentz, his brothers Mattieu and Willie Puls, and his first wife Pat Brooker. He is survived by his sisters, Lucia Melnick and Bea Van Diessen, his second wife Sandi Puls, his 10 kids; Maggie, Boe, Ted (Mary), Lyn, Patty, Chris (Jackie), Jim, Lucia, Jada (Curt) and Cody (Brittney), his 23 grandchildren, and his 21 great grandchildren.
Ed was born October 5, 1934 in 's-Hertogenbosch in the Netherlands. He lived through the occupation of the Netherlands during WWII, and came to Kenora, Ontario in 1950. He enlisted in the Royal 22nd Regiment of the Canadian Army, commonly called the Van Doos, where he also was a welterweight boxer. He then became a licensed plumber, worked for Hydro One and ran his own business while starting his large family.
He was a man who loved his family, liked to help his friends, loved a good joke, liked to get into a bit of mischief, and worked very hard. He liked coffee and cigarettes, playing pool, and driving around with ABBA blaring and a dog in the truck.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Minis Hall in the Super 8 in Kenora, Ontario on Sunday July 3, 2022 at 12:00 with the service starting at 12:30.
