Sisters, Monica Raye Sarfi and Monica Roussin.  She is survived by her husband Peter Miault whom she married on July 29, 1983, brother Walter Genereux and his Wife Evelyn, sister Valrena Bolus and her husband Paul.  Denise had many nieces and newphews, Calvin, Brent and Bernadine Genereux, Jason and Michelle Thomson, Carl, Keith and Wendy Sarfi, Ronnie and Kathleen Roussin as well as being a great-auntie to many nieces and nephews.  We must also mention her dear and loyal friend Kevin Cathcart.

Denise spent most of her career in the Long-Term Care sector as an RPN, Program Manager and ultimately Administrator of Birchwood Terrace.  A Long-Term Care Home in Kenora, Ontario. After many years of being Administrator Denise moved her career to working with Northwestern Independent Living Services Inc., where she was still able to make a difference in the lives of seniors and persons with disabilities until retirement.  Denise was heavily involved in the community and a staunch advocate and fundraiser for the Alzheimer’s Society.  She loved music and travel. Hawaii being her favorite destination with her husband Peter.  Denise loved sports, especially curling.  Denise and her team advanced to the nationals in wheelchair curling.  Her love of animals was never ending with many dogs and cats in her life.

The family would like to thank the Thunder Bay Health Sciences Regional Hospitals Doctors, staff and Renal unit for their devoted care for going above and beyond and the Lake of the Woods District Hospital for their care and compassion.

Rest in piece – wife, sister, auntie and friend – rest in piece.

Memorial donations can be made to the Alzheimer’s Society.

A private family gathering will be held at a future date.
