Agnes McKie - January 12, 2020

On January 12, 2020, just shy of her 91st birthday, Agnes Left us, here on earth to join her family in heaven.  She will now be reunited with her dad Bill, mother Beatrice, sister Bernice, and brother Bill.

Agnes was a true Keewatin Girl.  She was so proud of the fact that she was born and raised in Keewatin.  Sorry was the person who made the mistake of asking her if she was from Kenora...they were quickly set straight, in no uncertain terms!  Agnes lived in Keewatin up until 2 years ago, when her failing mobility forced her to move to Pinecrest.  She had an old Keewatin flag proudly displayed on the wall in her room there.

Agnes had a great love for her cottage on the Winnipeg River where she enjoyed 50 years of summer living.

Agnes was a talented knitter and crocheter.  Many a baby received one of her beautiful creations.

She had a memory like no other and never forgot a birthday or special date.  If anyone struggled to remember a date, they knew they could turn to Agnes.  She always had the answer!  Agnes kept up with the times, mastering the use of a cell phone, computer and i-pad when she was well into her 80's.  We were all in awe of that, even though when we face timed, often all we saw was the ceiling of her room!

Agnes leaves behind 6 nephews, and 2 nieces.  Agnes will be missed by her nephew Rocky (Lorrie), who even though now lives in London Ontario, kept in constant contact with her.  She will be dearly missed by the 3 special women in her life, Kim, Nancy and Sue who each played a huge role in making it possible for her to be able to stay at camp for so many years; to remain in her apartment for as long as she did: and in making her life as easy and comfortable as they could once she moved to Pinecrest.  She will also be missed by Marilyn and Gail who faithfully visited her.

Don't think of me in the dark and cold

For here, I am no longer old

I'm in a place that’s filled with love

Known to you all as "up above"

Cremation has taken place and a service will be planned for the summer.
