Joan Burrows 

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our dear wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother on Friday May 19th at Pinecrest.  Joan was born in Windsor, Ontario and lived there for the first 38 years of her life.  She met her husband Grant there when he was stationed with the RCMP.  They got married July 22, 1950 and were married just shy of 67 years.  Mom enjoyed gardening, curling, golfing and mostly her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.  Mom had many dear friends along her travels from Windsor, Thunder Bay and Kenora.  Mom was a member of the Kenora Legion and had just received her 35 year pin from the Lions club. Mom is survived by her husband Grant, 4 children Edward (Nancy) Burrows Thunder Bay, Pam (Joe) Masotti Calgary AB, Brenda (Bob) Allan Keewatin and David (Judy) Burrows Trenton Ontario. She had 6 Grandchildren and seven Great grandchildren.  Michael (Lauren, Mackayla & Mackenzie) Burrows,  Jennifer (Brent, Katlyn & Brody) Richards all of Thunder Bay, Mark (Monica & Vivienne) Masotti Winnipeg, Man, Melissa Allan Edmonton AB, Mathew (Whitney) Allan Thunder Bay Ontario & Lee (Bianca, Declan & Ivadell) Burrows Batawa Ontario. Following with Mom’s wishes there will be no funeral service.  In lieu of flowers a donation can be made to the Alzheimer’s society or a charity of your choice.  We would also like to thank the staff at Pinecrest for the wonderful care given to mom.  Alcock Funeral Home & Cremation Services (Highway 17 West Keewatin) in care of arrangements, 547-6000.
