LeAaron James LaDouceur
Aug 7, 1959 – Dec 13, 2016
LeAaron passed away peacefully at his home at Pinecrest in Kenora.
We will carry in our hearts precious memories …James and Agnes LaDouceur (aka mom and dad), sisters, Karen Jolin, Nadine Davis (Ken) and Sandi Lentz (Rob), his six nieces and three nephews, along with dear aunts, uncles, relatives and friends.
LeAaron (Lee) was born in St. Boniface, Manitoba. He was the second oldest of four children to Jim and Agnes LaDouceur. He had to endure growing up with 3 sisters! A challenge in itself! ; ) But we couldn’t have asked for a better brother and one truly awesome son!
Our family moved around a lot …living in Manitoba and BC before settling in Kenora, Ontario when LeAaron was in high school. LeAaron attended Beaver Brae and went on to work in the forest industry like his dad for many years. He then opened his own business in Keewatin “5th Gear Auto Electric”. He also attended Confederation College in Thunder Bay to take a course in Entrepreneurship.
LeAaron was very active in his younger years, he enjoyed skating, hockey, fishing, golfing, skiing and wind surfing. He had a special bond with his dad and they loved to watch car racing and golfing together. Tiger Woods was one of his favourite players and Lee did “sound” like Tiger at times …when he would duff a shot and you heard him “roar”.
Mom kept a loving and watchful eye on her son and raised a man of integrity and kindness. His greatest gift was his loving and generous nature. He was an incredible man …our hero.
In his mid 30’s LeAaron was diagnosed with a rare disease (Ataxia) which challenged him in every way. It is a slow progressive disease with no cure. He took it on ….he did it with honour and strength. He did it without complaining. He did it with love and compassion for others. That’s just the way he was.
Sincere thanks to everyone for their love and support, to all the doctors who helped him, to the nurses and staff at LOW District Hospital, to the staff at Hennessy Terrace and Birchwood, to Pastor Robert Wittmeier and the caring staff at Pinecrest who made it a home for LeAaron surrounded by love, to his special friends Liz Garrow and Justin Leydier (you will never know how much you mean), and to the Minister at Knox United Church, Cheryl Kinney Matheson for the loving and touching baptism. “He Was, Is, And Always Will Be God’s Child”.
We ask only for prayers and we send them to all who need them. From LeAaron …”God Bless you all and Merry Christmas” (LeAaron loved Christmas and we know this would be his gift to everyone). We love you LeAaron ….Always.
A Celebration of Life will be held in the spring for family and friends.
