In Loving Memory
Betty Ann Olson, age 80 of Kenora Ontario formerly of Red Rock, Ontario passed away at Lake of the Woods District Hospital with her family by her side on Sunday, June 11, 2017.
She was born to Oscar and Bernice DeBlois on July 25, 1936 in East Angus, Quebec. Betty moved to Red Rock with her parents when she was 12 years old where she learned to speak English and developed many long lasting friendships. Betty married the love of her life Ned Olson, in September of 1965, recently celebrating their special 50th wedding Anniversary. She worked at Domtar Packaging for many years where she impacted many lives by simply saying “Good Morning Domtar!” She was an active member of the Royal Canadian Legion and the Catholic Women’s League throughout her life in Red Rock.
Family was Betty’s delight and she did everything for her children and family. Her most precious days were spent with the family and friends at Crow Lake in Nestor Falls, Ontario each summer.
Betty is survived by her beloved husband Ned, children and spouses, Brad and Anna Olson, Greg and Chantal Olson, of Red Rock and Kathleen and Doug Novak of Kenora, her pride and special grandchildren Justin, Sheldon, Brandon, Ethan, Calley and Lukas. She also leaves behind many loved relatives and friends.
The family wishes to thank the team at the Lake of The Woods District hospital for the excellent care during her brief stay.
Cremation has taken place and a service will be held at a later date. Donations can be made to the Lake of the Woods District Hospital Foundation.
