Robert Stapleton December 11,1942 - September 30,2022
We are saddened to announce that Bob passed away peacefully at the Lake of the Woods District Hospital, on Friday September 30 2022.
He was predeceased by his parents John and Bessie Stapleton. He leaves behind to mourn, his sister Joan who resides in England. Children Walter, Sheila and Leahanne Ochapowace. His Grandchildren Patrina, Jagger and Jaxxon. Bob will be greatly missed by his very close friend Leonard Carlson of Keewatin, as they were often found telling fish stories at the Bait shop.
Bob was born in Leicester, England in 1942. He relocated to Canada and made Saskatchewan his home in 1975 and worked as a butcher. He found his love of fishing when he moved to Kenora, Ontario in the early 80's. He eventually opened and operated the JB Bait and Tackle shop. He fished numerous fishing tournaments throughout the years in the Kenora area and eventually founded the Bronzeback Classic. Despite having big competitors, along with his age Bob continued to operate his small business. His true profit was being able to interact with his valuable customers who have become very close friends and family.
The family would like to thank Dr. Brad Kyle and the great staff at Lake of the Woods District Hospital.
A celebration of life will be announced at a later date.
